Martin Knaack
GORED TO DEATH BY BULL
Martin Knaack, who lived on the Leslie Strickland farm in West Creek, was gored to death by a bull last Friday evening. He was taking the animal from Charlie Strickland's farm to his home and was going down the stone road, when the bull, without any warning, attacked him and soon got him down and began goring him. He was badly crushed and mangled. Help soon arrived and got the bull away and a doctor called. Arrangements were made to take the injured man to the hospital at Hammond, but he passed away on the way to town. The bull had always been a gentle animal, but it is thought the terribly hot weather made him mad and that was the reason he attacked Mr. Knaack.Funeral services were held at the home Tuesday morning and the remains were taken to Kniman for burial. The burial service was in charge of Undertaker Weaver.
The deceased was about 50 years of age and leaves a family, who have the sympathy of the entire community.
