Mary Ebert Christenson (1858-1924)
(Mrs. Julius Christenson)

The following September 11, 1924 Lowell Tribune article appeared on page 4, column 3:
Mary (Ebert) Christenson was born at Obermileae, Germany, May 24, 1858, and after many months of patient suffering departed this life at the home near Lake Village Friday morning, September 5, 1924, aged 66 years, 3 months and 11 days. At the early age of 14 years she came to America with her parents and settled on a farm near Lowell, Ind. In the year 1878 she was united in marriage with Julius Christenson and two children were born to this union.

In early years she was received into the German Lutheran church. Then later she united with the U.B. church, then stationed at Parson's schoolhouse.

She bore all her great suffering with patience and fortitude, anxiously awaiting and praying to be ready to meet her Master's last great call. She was a good christian character, always ready to help those in need and freely giving of her services and loving kindness to all.

She was a patient loving wife, a tender devoted mother and to all the community a most loyal friend. She is survived by her husband, two sons, George and Ervy and wives, of Lake Village, four grandchildren, one great-grand-child; three brothers, George and Adam Ebert, of Lowell, Ind., and Fred Ebert, of Seffner, Fla., and a host of other relatives and friends, who will mourn her loss.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Lake Village church, by the Rev. Taylor, of Morocco. Interment was made in the Lake Village cemetery.
