- Our city was deeply shocked on Monday when the news spread over town conveying the announcement of the death of Mrs. Ransom Kile. She had been an invalid for many months and several days before the Death Angel called to claim her it was generally believed about town that she was rapidly recovering, but a change for the worse came and she passed to the Great Beyond on the above date.
- Mary Powers was born in Providence, Rhode Island April 6, 1837 and died December 9, 1907, aged 70 years, 8 months and 3 days. When a child she came with her parents to Lake county, Indiana, where she grew to womanhood. On October 19, 1856 she was united in marriage to Ransom Kile. Six sons were born to this union, three of whom died in early childhood. In 1879 with her family she removed to Griswold, Cass county, Iowa. Again, in 1884, they moved to Antelope county, Nebraska, where they resided until 1901 when she and her husband came to make their home in Plainview. In 1864 she united with the Christian church and became a member of the Plainview Methodist church in 1893. Her husband, three sons--W.T. Kile, of Plainview, L.E. Kile, of Verdel, and M.L. Kile, of Creighton, with twelve grand-children and five great-grand-children survive her. A loving, patient wife and mother has gone to her reward.--Plainview, (Nebraska), News
