Mat Seramur

The following May 31, 1895, Lake County Star article was found in the Local History clipping files at the Lowell Public Library (LH--Vital Statistics, vol. 5, page 1):

    Died Suddenly

    Last Thursday Mat Seramore [Seramur?], Sr., was about town all day, as usual, and went home at 9 o'clock, in good health. About 12 o'clock he awoke Mrs. Seramore and told her he believed he was dying, and in about ten minures the last breath left him. His death is supposed to have resulted from paralysis, having a spell of it two years ago which nearly took him off. Mat was about 57 years of age and has been a resident of Lake county since quite young. Funeral at Catholic church the following Saturday.
