The following April 19, 1945, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 1:

    Commissioned Second Lieutenant

    Ft. Benning, Ga. (Special) -- Arthur Maurice Brodie of Chicago, Ill., was commissioned a 2nd lieutenant in the army of the United States Monday upon successful completion of the Officer Candidate course at the Infantry School, Ft. Benning, Ga. Lt. Brodie is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Anderson of Baker Hotel, St. Charles, Ill.

    The new lieutenant was inducted into the army on June 30, 1944, and served with the I.R.T.C., Camp Wheeler, Ga., before going to Officer Candidate School four months ago. He held the rank of Pvt. before being commissioned.

    The new officer is a graduate of Lowell high school.
