The following October 12, 1944, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2 column 1:

    Now Stationed at Ft. Meyers, Fla.

    We are informed by the Gene Poers that his brother, Pfc. Max Poer, who has been stationed at Shepperd Field, Texas, is now at Ft. Meyers, Florida, where he is attending gunnery school.

    Lyle Poer, D.K. 3/c, is now on recruiting duty with the navy and at present is stationed at Spokane, Wash.
