A Desert Storm Scrapbook kept by Martha Burger contained a newspaper article from an unnamed paper about local returning Desert Storm troops. The following is an excerpt from the artilce entitled "'Thank You' To Desert Storm Troops":
    The Tri Creek/Cedar Lake Desert Storm Support Group has officially begun to honor this area's returning military. Due to the generosity of area residents, clubs and organizations, donations and gifts from the towns of Cedar Lake and Lowell, funds have been raised and to date 53 plaques have been made and are awaiting the recipients.
    The first presentation was made on June 26 to area resident Melissa Huseman, a member of the U.S. Marine Corps. Huseman has since returned to her base in California.
