Melissa Wemple Sprague Steiner (1857-1931)

- Melissa (Wemple, Sprague) Steiner, daughter of Adelia and Peter Wemple, was born at Robinson Prairie, Ind., May 19, 1857, and departed this life at her home in Crown Point, Ind., May 14, 1931, at the age of 74 years.
She was united in marriage to J.W. Sprafue, November 1, 1876, who preceded her in death December 24, 1904. To this union six children were born, two of whom are still libing -- M.P. Sprague, of Lowell, and Mrs. P.W. Stringham, of Hammond.
On June 17, 1917, she was united in marriage to Frank Steiner, Sr., who died April 30, 1930.
She united with the Christian church of Lowell, Ind., in 1888.
