Mrs. Albert Quivey

A copy of the following unidentified newspaper article, hand-dated October 1, 1953, was found in the Lowell Public Library's clipping files:

    Mrs. Albert Quivey New Librarian

    Mrs. Albert Quivey today assumed the position of librarian at the Lowell Public Library.

    A community leader, Mrs. Quivey is president of the Lake County Home Economics Association and a member of the county choir. She serves as pianist for Indian Trail Grange and is an active member of the First Methodist church and its various societies.

    Mrs. Quivey attended Indiana University and Manchester College. Next summer's plans include eight weeks of study at I.U., where she will take an accredited librarian course.

    Mrs. B.K. Hayhurst is assistant librarian.

    Announcement of Mrs. Quivey's appointment was made yesterday by Library Board President Maurice Parmely, and members Mrs. Helene Russell, Mrs. Walter Miller, Mrs. Fred McRoberts, Mrs. Starr Brownell, C.R. Ashton and Charles Dickinson.
