The following unidentified newspaper article was in a collection owned by Lowell Town Historian Richard Schmal:

Mrs. Daniel Martin of Liberty Township, Ind., is at death's door, the result of her clothing taking fire from a skillet of grease she was ____ing, which ran over, and ignited her dress, burning her horribly. Relatives heard her screams and came to her rescue, but, it is believed, too late.
