Mrs. John H. Courll (nee Buehler) (1877-1903)

Mrs. John H. Courll (nee Buehler) (1877-1903)

The following unidentified newspaper article was in a collection owned by Lowell Town Historian Richard Schmal:
Monday afternoon, September 21, the sad news of the death of Mrs. John Courll came to Dwight, Ill. She was the eldest daughter of Peter and Harriet Buehler. Although she had been living in Texas but a short time she had by her kindly Christian character made many friends.

Mrs. Courll was born in West Creek, Lake county, Indiana, July 19, 1877. In December 1898 she was united in marriage to the now bereaved husband. This union was blessed with three children, two sons and one daughter.

From the time of their marriage until about two years ago they resided in Chicago; from there they moved to Texas, where Mrs. Courll died. She leaves a husband, two sons, one daughter, parents, three sisters, two brothers and a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn her loss. At the time of her death she was 26 years, 1 month and 16 days old.

Although her death leaves a vacant chair in a bereaved home, it is a comfort to know that she has made her eternal future in Heaven by her kindly, constant Christian character.

Mrs. Courll was a loving wife and kind mother. She always had a ready hand to help her husband in his difficulties. The funeral occurred from the Congregational church, Dwight, Ill., at 2 o'clock p.m., Saturday, September 19. The remains were laid away in the Oak Lawn cemetery. The floral offerings were very beautiful. The sympathy of the community goes to the bereaved husband and other relatives and friends.
