The following article was found in the Oct. 12, 1872, Lowell Star on page 5, column 2:

Several desperate cases of typhoid fever are reported on the road toward Hebron. Mrs. Ludy, and a stepson ot T. Sergeant, both of one neighborhood, were reported very sick the early part of the week.
