The following unidentified newspaper article was found in a scrapbook owned by Town Historian Richard Schmal:

    Mrs. Robert Black Re-elected President of Lake Co. Beekeepers

    The Lake County Beekeeper's Association met at the criminal court building in Crown Point, October 17th, with Mrs. Robert M. Black, president, presiding.

    Charles Hein of Ross, who won the Lake County Beekeeper's 4-H trophy this year, spoke to the group about his progress with bees.

    A guest speaker from the Illinois Du Page Association, Eger Robinson, gave an enlightening account of Du Page activities.

    A movie called "Bees for Hire" was shown by Mr. Foerman, assistant of the Lake County agriculture department.

    The election of officers for the association was conducted with the following results:

    Mrs. Robert M. Black, president; Will Horst, vice-president; Mrs. Adolph Shonka, secretary-treasurer; Adolph Shonka and Ilus C. Wood, directors.

    Refreshments were served by Mrs. Shonka, Peter Bowe and Mrs. Retman.
