The following October 31, 1968, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 9, column 3:

    Serving Aboard Hancock

    Navy Commander Murray C. Cook, 43, of Crown Point, Ind., is serving aboard the attack aircraft carrier USS Hancock in the Gulf of Tonkin.

    Operating from "Yankee Station," the carrier's aircraft fly missions to both North and South Vietnam.

    The Hancock. oldest attack carrier in operation today, was not as mammoth as today's modern carriers, Hancock has a crew of some 2,000 men, 900 more from the embarked air squadrons and 85 men from Carrier Division Nine Staff.

    Hancock is flagship for Commander, Carrier Division Nine.
