Orville E. "Babe" Beier
- Orville E. Beier, son of Mrs. Orville Beier of Schneider, a graduate of L.H.S. class of '48, was also inducted in the September draft. "Babe" is stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo., close by the home of his grandparents, the Ira Mansfields.
The following November 8, 1951, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 1, columns 2-3:
- "Babe" Beier, son of Mrs. Orville Beier of Schneider, who was inducted in the October call, will be happy to hear from former L.H.S. classmates and home folks. Address: Pvt. Orville E. Beier US 55200398, "C" Bat., 61st AAA-AW-BN-CCR, 6th Armored Div., 4th Plt., Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.
The following February 21, 1952, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 2:
- Orville "Babe" Beier, son of Mr. and Mrs. Orville Beier, Sr., of Schneider, who was inducted with Fred [Lutgen] and received his basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, is now stationed at Ft. Belvoir also. "Babe's" new address is Pvt. Orville E. Beier, US55200398, Co. "C," 1st Sch. Bn. (Bldg. D-13), Ft. Belvoir, Va.
This March 27, 1952, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 1, column 1:
- Pvt. Orville Beier left Wednesday for Ft. Lawton, Seattle, Washington, after nine days spent with his mother, Mrs. Vesper Beier. "Babe" has finished drafting school and will be transferred to Alaska in the near future.
