The 1930 census for Brook Township, Newton County, Indiana, shows the Oscar Bisig household as consisting of the following people:
    1. Oscar Bisig, husband, currently age 34 (age 25 when he married), a WWI veteran, employed as a carpenter building houses. He was born in Indiana, but both his parents came from Switzerland.

    2. Alta Bisig, wife, currently age 34 (age 25 when she married). She and both parents were born in Indiana.

    3. Wesley Bisig, son, age 8 and enrolled in school. He was born in Illinois.

    4. Vivamae Bisig, daughter, age 5. She was born in Michigan.

The following article, from the collection of Mrs. Rochelle Bisig Gereg and hand-dated Oct. 1937, comes from an unknown newspaper. Hand-written in the margin is the fact that Oscar, born in 1895, was 42 at this time:
Oscar Bisig was pleasantly surprised Sunday when Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bisig, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bisig and son, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Horner and family and Mrs. and Mrs. Charles Bisig of Chicago Heights, Illinois, came with well filled baskets to help Oscar celebrate his birthday. The occasion also being his uncle and aunt's, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Bisig, Sr's, 37th wedding anniversary.

In the afternoon accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Bisig and family they all called at the country home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Ulyat, They departed at a very late hour wishing Oscar many more happy birthdays.
