The following item was found under the heading "Old Time News -- March 27, 1875" in the June 19, 1924, Lowell Tribune (page 6, column 2):
    An account is given of a little four-year-old child of George Palmer's living near Cedar Lake being so badly scalded that it died. One of the legs of the stove got knocked out and the stove tipped letting a boiler of hot water tip over onto the child.
