Pama Lee Van Dan

The following October 5, 1944, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 1 column 4:

    LITTLE GIRL MEETS ACCIDENTAL DEATH

PAMA LEE VAN DAN CRUSHED UNDER TRUCK DRIVEN BY HER FATHER

While playing in the barn yard at their farm home east of Lowell, last Friday, little Pama Lee Van Dan, met instant death when a truck driven by her father accidentally backed over her, crushing her chest and fracturing her skull.

The grief-stricken father told deputy sheriffs that he had just arrived home with a load of gravel, and as he drove in the barnyard the little girl was playing near the gate. He called a greeting to her, and just as he started backing the truck, the little one ran towards him and the truck passed over her before he could stop. The little girl was dead when medical aid arrived.

Surviving are her parents and one brother.

The remains were brought to the Sheets funeral home, where services were held Saturday. Interment, in charge of Kenneth Sheets, was made in Hebron cemetery.
