The following unidentified newspaper article was found in a scrapbook owned by Town Historian Richard Schmal:

    Paul Riggs Honored Upon Retirement

    Paul Riggs, 64, of Lowell, is the first supervisor to be retired from the East Chicago plant of Socony-Mobil Oil Co. In recognition of his 30 years' service, Mr. Riggs was presented a special emblem by William W. Reed, refinery manager. Riggs, material control suprervisor, started work at the plant in 1926 with the former Bartles-Maguire Oil Company.
