This July 19, 1951, Lowell Tribune article was found page 8, columns 5-6:

    HOOSIER MANS TANK GUN IN FIVE KOREAN BATTLES

    With the U.S. 2nd Infantry Division in Korea, July 10 -- "They say I have the best job on a tank because I'm the fellow that pulls the trigger on the big gun," said Sgt. Perry A. Madison, 27, of Thayer, Ind. "Maybe they're right." He is the gunner on a tank with a tank company of the 38th RCT of the 2nd Infantry Division in Korea. He is on his twelfth month in Korea and can readily name five major battles his tank has been in.
