Perry G. Sinks (1916-2000)
- Perry G. Sinks, age 84, of Schneider, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2000. He is survived by: his wife of 59 years, Josephine Sinks; one daughter, Delores (Ron) Whittingham of Hebron; two sons, Perry (Patricia) Sinks of San Pierre and Gerry (Linda) Sinks of Raleigh, North Carolina; six grandchildren, Mike, Jeff and Scott Birch, Perry Richard Sinks, Jessica and Jason Sinks; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Warren (Lolly) Sinks of Schneider, Kenneth Sinks of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Howard Lee of Warrenburg, Missouri; one sister, Ruth Bowman of Schneider, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. July 8 at Sheets Funeral Home, Lowell, with Frank Fisher, O.S.I., officiating. Burial followed at Sanders Cemetery in Lowell. Visitation was held from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. July 7 at the funeral home. Perry Sinks was born June 13, 1916, in Morocco, Indiana. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran, having served in the South Pacific. He retired from Amoco Oil Co., and was a past member of the Schneider Town Council.
This correction appeared in the July 17, 2000, issue of the Lowell Tribune (page 5, column 4):
- Due to incorrect information provided to the newspaper, the names of three grandchildren were incorrect when published July 11, 2000. Perry G. Sinks is survived by six grandchildren, including Mike, Jeff, and Scott Beird, as well as Perry Richard Sinks, Jessica and Jason Sinks.
