A copy of the following newspaper article, hand-identified as being from the May 17, 1954, Tribune, was found in a scrapbook owned by Town Historian Richard Schmal:

Perry Washburn, widely known realtor of Rensselaer died Saturday, May 15. Petty once drove a truck for the H.A. Grant Trucking company, making deliveries in Lowell, His son, Willard of Gary, worked for the Spindler Co., now the Lowell Sears store, in the late 1930's and early '40's. Lowell friends extend Willard expressions of sympathy.
