The following July 6, 1950, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 6, column 2:

    COX - MELTON ANNOUNCE FALL WEDDING PLANS

    Mr. and Mrs. Basil Cox, of Cedar Lake are announcing the engagement of their daughter, Ann, to R. David Melton, Jr., also of Cedar Lake.

    Miss Cox attended Lowell High School and is now at home.

    Mr. Melton, who is the son of R. David Melton of Virginia, is employed by the Standard Oil Company in Whiting. During the war he served six years with the U.S. Navy.

    The couple is planning a fall wedding.
