The following article was found in the March 18, 1943, Lowell Tribune on page 4, column 3:

    FRIENDS SURPRISE RALPH BALLOUS BEFORE MOVING

    Mrs. and Mrs. Ralph Ballou and family, who have resided on the James Little farm in Eagle Creek township for the past 5 ˝ years, recently moved to Mr. Little's home farm in West Creek to continue in his employ.

    Before moving, Mrs. Eleanor Little invited the Ballous over for the evening, and then greatly surprised them by having a group of the friends in for the evening.

    After playing cards, cake and ice cream were enjoyed by the group.
