Raymond L. Bright
- "Believe it or not" here's one that Ripley doesn't know about. Mrs. Raymond Bright received a letter from her husband recently requesting that she send his bathing suit to him in Iceland, and, although she wasn't sure whether he would be able to use it or not, promptly sent it to him. During the Christmas holidays Staff Sgt. Bright replied to her last letter, thanking her for sending the suit and stated that he had already been in swimming several times. We never knew it, but there must be [a] place in Iceland that's warm enough to take an outside dip at this time of the year or else this soldier has reached the point in physical toughness where a little ice water doesn't bother him.
The following July 20, 1944, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 5, column 3:
- Mrs. Raymond Bright spent last week in Kokomo, visiting her son, Jimmie Lee, and her mother. Her husband, who has been overseas for 32 months, is now "somewhere in France". He hopes to get a furlough soon.
This April 10, 1952, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 3, column 3:
- M/Sgt. Raymond L. Bright, who has been stationed in Frankfort, Germany for the past three years, is enroute home. His wife and three children, who have been in Germany with him, will return also, and after a 30-day leave, Raymond will be stationed in the states. In the service since 1939, he has served 8 years overseas. In Germany, he was with the military police of the 71st anti-aircraft.
