The following unidentified newspaper article was found in a scrapbook owned by Town Historian Richard Schmal:

    Renee Rieke Purchases Lowell Beauty Nook

    Renee Ricke, who for several years successfully operated a beauty shop on Commercial Ave., has purchased the Beauty Nook from Mrs. Leonard Anglis of Chicago, the former Miss Monica Kalvaitis.

    Evelyn Mansell, a competent beautician, who has been employed by Mrs. Anglis for the past year, will continue to work under the new management.

    The many patrons of the Beauty Nook are the recipients of Mrs. Anglis' thanks for their patronage through the past years.
