A copy of the following unidentified newspaper article was found in a scrapbook owned by Town Historian Richard Schmal:

    Rev. H.R. Hotchkiss Appointed To Pastorate At Walkerton, Ind.

    Rev. Harold R. Hotchkiss, who has served as pastor of the First Methodist church here for the past three years, has been appointed to the pastorate of the Methodist church at Walkerton, Ind., located approximately 75 miles east of Lowell. Rev. and Mrs. Hotchkiss and children, Larry, Arleah and Lane will leave Lowell June 20.

    Rev. Hotchkiss has accomplished much in his three - year stay here. He has been an active participant in both the grade and high school PTA's. As chairman of the High School PTA Youth Activities program, Rev. Hotchkiss worked indefatigably to organize a schedule of events for the community's youth which proved outstandly successful. He has been a leader in many area activities, and under his pastorate the church constructed a $58,000 addition.

    The Hotchkiss family is extended well wishes for much happiness at Walkerton.
