A copy of the following newspaper article, hand-identified as being from the April 30, 1954, Star, was found in a scrapbook owned by Town Historian Richard Schmal:

    MEMBER OF LONGTIME SHELBY FAMILY DIES IN INDIANAPOLIS

    Funeral services at Sheets chapel in Lowell Wednesday afternoon marked the passing of Richard Oliver Fuller, member of a long-established Shelby family. His death occurred Saturday in Indianapolis, his home in recent years.

    Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard E. Fuller of Shelby, Oliver never married. He saw service with the U.S. Navy during World War II.

    Rev. E.L. Worley conducted services at the chapel and graveside in Orchard Grove cemetery.
