A letter in the Sept. 7, 1944, Lowell Tribune (page 2, column 2) from Claude "Gabby" Hall to his parents mentioned that Dick "Chub" Barton was in Texas.

A September 5, 1946 Lowell Tribune article about Millard "Sparky" Hall lists Dick Barton as the best man at "Sparky's" wedding and Loretta Barton, Dick's wife, as the matron of honor. The Bartons threw a party the night of the wedding in honor of the Halls.
