A March 11, 1943, Lowell Tribune article (page 6, column 3) listed Pvt. Robert Temske of Lowell as having gone to a camp in Hoffman, North Carolina, for his basic training.
The following August 17, 1944, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 4, column 2:
School Mates Meet in New Guinea
Writing his parents, the John Kennedys, Pfc. Dale Kennedy, stationed with the armed forces in New Guinea, said he unexpectedly met Pfc. Robert Temske recently. The boys, both of whom were former students at L.H.S., had a fine visit talking over happenings in the old home town. Both were well when the letter was written.Return to Lowell Biographies.
