This July 12, 1951, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 1, column 1:
    Louis Camus, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Camus of Schneider, and Bob Stewart, son of Mrs. Emma Stewart, also of Schneider, are recent Navy enlistees. The boys will receive their boot training at Great Lakes.

    Louis, a graduate of Lowell high school's class of '49 would enjoy letters or cards from hometown friends at this address: Camus, L.T., Sr. 304-44-05, Co. 562, 143rd Batt., U.S. N.T.C. Great Lakes, Ill.


This August 23, 1951, Lowell Tribune article was found page 1, column 5:

    Enjoy 12-Hour Pass

    Louis Camus and Robert Steward [sic], both of Schneider, enjoyed a 12-hour leave at the homes of their parents last weekend. They had as their guest Louie Uberti of New York, Bill Kramer and Morris Bly, both of Grand Rapids, Mich. The five fellows, with the U.S. Navy, are receiving their Boot training at Great Lakes, Ill.

This information appeared in a January 31, 1952, Lowell Tribune article on page 1, column 3:
    S 1/c Bob Stewart, son of Mrs. Emma Stewart of Schneider, who was graduated from recruit training at Great Lakes, Ill., on September 8th, is now stationed at Atlantic City, New Jersey. Address: Robert Charles Stewart, AA 303-44-04, TAD Comm., Dept. N.A.S., Atlantic City, N.J.
