Robert F. Fisher, S2/c, of the merchant marine, is home on a 15-day furlough with his parents, the R.M. Fishers.Note that Robert Fisher's middle initial in this article was printed as "F."

Wins Sharpshooters Medal
Pvt. Robert E. Fisher, son of the R.M. Fishers, operators of the Standard Service Station on north junction of 2 and 41, who is stationed at Camp Blanding, Fla., wrote home recently that he had won a rifle marksmanship medal for making the highest score in his battalion. Robert, who has previously served in the merchant marine, has been in the army about three months.The following October 11, 1945, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 4, column 1:
- Pvt. Robert E. Fisher, son of the P.M. Fishers west of town, is home on a 15-day furlough from Camp Blanding, Florida. On completion of his furlough he will report to an air corps school in Washington, for training in that branch of service, then will be sent overseas.
Robert E. Fisher's father's initials are listed as both "R.M." and "P.M."
The following December 20, 1951, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 1, column 5:
- Pfc. Robert Fisher, stationed with the U.S. Army in Japan, recently sent his grandmother, Mrs. Gertrude Cook, Cedar Lake, a beautiful painting of Christ, which she prizes most highly.
The following June 26, 1952, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 6, column 2:
- Arriving home after spending 15 months in Korea, S/Sgt. Robert E. Fisher, son of Mr. and Mrs. R.M. Fisher of Fremont, Mich., formerly of routes 2 and 41, Lowell, was guest of honor at a homecoming held in the new home of his sister and family, the Stewart Williams, at routes 2 and 41.
Following a 30-day leave which he will enjoy resting and visiting relatives and friends, Bob will return to a New York Air Force base. He will receive his discharge in December, terminating eight years of service. Bob was on Guam during World War II.
Present at the William's home to greet Bob upon his arrival were his parents, his sister Miss Joyce Fisher, his brothers-in-law, sisters, nieces and nephews, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Eastling, Sandra, Sharon and Robert, Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Williams, Terry and Junior, also his brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Fisher and Larry. Bob has a host of Lowell friends.
