The following November 9, 1950, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 1, column 4:

    LOWELL MARINE ON WOUNDED LIST

    Marine Cpl. Robert Edward Nelson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carey Kester, Route No. 1, Lowell, has been listed as wounded by the department of defense.

    Nelson's name appeared on the defense department's 145th casualty list issued since hostilities began in the Korean area.

    Lowell friends pray that Robert's wounds are not serious and that he will recover soon.
