This August 23, 1951, Lowell Tribune article was found page 1, column 5:

    Navy Enlistee

    Robert Camus, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Camus of Schneider, enlisted in the U.S. Navy August 14, and has reported to Great Lakes, Ill., for his Boot training. His brother, Louis, is also stationed at Great Lakes.

The following October 11, 1951, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 1:
    Granted a 12-hour liberty from Great Lakes, Robert H. Camus spent Sunday with his parents and brother, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Camus and Louis, Jr. He was accompanied by Eugene Clearwater of South Bend. Bob will complete boot training in four weeks. His address follows: Robert H. Camus, 304-56-90, Co. 710 101st Bat., 10th Reg., Camp Downes, Great Lakes, Ill.

The following November 15, 1951, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 1, column 2:
    Robert Camus enjoyed a leave from training at Great Lakes Naval Training Center this week in the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Camus in Schneider.
Another article from the same issue of the paper was found on page 7, column 4:

    FORMER L.H.S. STUDENT HOME ON LEAVE

    Bob Camus, who is now home on leave, came to visit Lowell high school and his ex-classmates Monday, November 12. At the present time Bob is stationed at Great Lakes.

    Bob would have graduated this May. The students were very happy to see Bob again.


The following January 3, 1952, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 3:
    Mr. and Mrs. Louis Camus of Schneider were delighted to have both their sons, serving with the Navy, home for the Christmas holidays. After completing boot training at Great Lakes three months ago, Louis, Jr., was assigned to the USS Midway and participated in a 26-day cruise to Cuba. Since his return he has been at Norfolk, Va. He expects to leave January 9th for the Mediterranean area on a six-month jaunt. Address: Louis Camus, S2A, USS Midway, CVB-41, c/o F.P.O., New York, N.Y.

    Robert Camus completed boot training at Great Lakes about a month ago and is now attending machinist mate school, following a 10-day leave at home. Address: Robert Camus AA3045690, VR-6, Westover Air Force Base, Mass.


This April 17, 1952, Lowell Tribune article appeared on page 2, column 2:
    Robert Camus, in a letter to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Camus of Schneider, tells that he has passed his Airman's test. He reveals plans to meet his brother, Louis, in New York City on Armed Forces Day, providing he isn't sent to Gunner Mate School at Bridgeport, Conn., ahead of schedule. Bob's address is Robert Camus, A.N. VR-6, M.A.T.S., Box 15, Westover A.F.B., Mass.

The following May 22, 1952, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 3, columns 1-2:
    Mr. and Mrs. Louis Camus were pleasantly surprised one day last week when their son, Louis, Jr., called them from Norfolk, Va. He is back in Norfolk after four months spent in the Mediterranean. They also report hearing from their son, Robert, who is stationed at the Westover Air Force Base, Mass., that he has been ill and has had to have some chest x-rays recently. We all wish him a speedy recovery.

The following June 26, 1952, Lowell Tribune information was found on page 6, column 2:
    Louis Camus, Jr., arrived at the home of his parents in Schneider after an absence of six months. The Camuses anticipate the homecoming of their other son, Robert, also with the Navy, stationed at Westover Air Force Base, Mass., and a happy reunion is planned.

This July 17, 1952, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 2:

    A.N. Robert Camus

    Concluding a 15-day leave at the home of his parents, the Louis Camuses, A.N. Robert Camus left Sunday evening for Westover Air Force Base in Massachusetts. The Camuses' son, Louis, who also enjoyed a leave at home, returned last Thursday to the Navy Base at Norfolk, Va.

This October 9, 1952, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 2:
    Robert Camus, SN, is spending a 14 day leave at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Camus in Schneider. Robert came home to complete convalescence following an appendectomy and hospitalization. He will report to his base on October 15th.

    His address is now Robert H. Camus SN, VR-6, M.A.T.S. Box 15, W/over A.F.B., Mass.
