The following article was found in the Jan. 14, 1943, Lowell Tribune on page 4, column 1:

A card from the Public Relations officer at Ft. Harrison, Ind., states that Robert V. Roy, son of the Leo Roys, former residents of Lowell, now living in Gary, has been sent to Miami, Fla,. for his basic training.
