The following March 14, 1968, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 8, column 3:

Private Ronald E. Mager, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Mager, Route 1, Cedar Lake, Ind., completed a meteorological observer course Jan. 26 at the Army Signal School, Ft. Monmouth, N.J.

During the 19-week course Pvt. Mager was trained in the observation, interpretation and compilation of meteorological phenomena at locations away from weather stations.
