The following April 5, 1945, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 1:

    A New Naval Aviator

    Roy Bang, 21, son of Enevold Bang of Cedar Lake, has been commissioned an Ensign in the naval reserve and designated a naval aviator at the naval air training base at Pensacola, Fla.

    Having completed his intermediate training at the "Annapolis of the Air" he will be ordered to duty either at an instructor's school for further training or at an operational base.
