This unidentified newspaper article, dated February 26, 1925, was found in a scrapbook owned by Town Historian Richard Schmal:

Tuesday, Feb. 24th, was the 80th birthday anniversary of Mrs. H.J. Nichols. A bountiful birthday dinner was prepared by Mrs. E.H. Ruge who with her husband and children gathered at the home to enjoy the occasion with the aged mother, in company with the daughter, Sadie E. and son, Huron O. Nichols. On Mar. 2, Mrs. Nichols will have lived on the present homesite continuously for sixty-three years, having settled there as a bride.
