Funeral Friday for Sven P. Peterson

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Sheets Funeral Home for Sven Peter Peterson, 89, who passed away Wednesday morning, December 26. Rev. E.L. Worley will officiate.

Mr. Peterson was born in Marlaby, Sweden, on August 16, 1867, and came to the United States in October of 1888. He married Elma Svenson, who came to the United States from Sweden aboard the same ship. They were married when the boat docked. They settled in Hammond and came to Lowell when he retired in October of 1928. She died October 21, 1932.

He held membership in the Svidhiod lodge of East Chicago.

They were the parents of three children. Esther died in 1898 and Ruth in 1911. Harry resides in Lowell.

Surviving with his son, Harry, are three grandchildren and two great grandchildren, besides a host of friends.
