Family Matriarch Joins Lowell's Miller Reunion

The descendents of Simon Henrich August Miller, better known as "Gus," and Louisa Maria (Meyer) Cohagen met at Evergreen Park in Lowell for their annual get-together on August 25.

At age 98, matriarch Gladys Ingram Miller, wife of Arthur Miller (1894- 1939), joined the celebration. On November 27 she celebrated her 99th birthday. Cards would be welcome to Gladys Ingram Miller, Oak Grove Christian Retirement Village, 221 West Division Street, DeMotte, IN 46310.

Before marrying Arthur Miller in October 1932, Gladys Ingram taught Latin and English at Lowell High School. Her sons, Dale from Arkansas, and Randall, with his wife Peggy, from Illinois, accompanied their mother to the reunion.

Arlis Miller Harms and husband Don, and her sister Mildred Miller Steward, with her husband Don, traveled from South Dakota to join the festivities. Julia Stenerson Miller's (deceased April 14, 2001) daughter, Ellen Miller Bowers, with her husband Bill Stevenson, came from Ohio. Ellen's brothers, Sheldon and Lyle, with his wife Betty Jo, long-time residents, joined in.

Margaret (Stahl) and husband Kitchell Hayden and Shirley and John Lindemer from Crown Point stopped by in the afternoon.

After indulging taste buds with all the wonderful food, the group toured cemeteries where relatives have been buried. They continued late into the evening by sharing photos, stories, and hobbies with family members.
