This February 25, 1943, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 5, column 5:
    Mrs. Arnold Alyea has returned from a visit with relatives at South Bend. She attended a farewell party for her brother, who is going to the army this week.
The following article was found in the April 13, 1944, Lowell Tribune on page 5, column 3:
    Mrs. Arthur Lardon and little son, Bobbie, are here from Ozacks, Ala., and expect to remain here for the duration with Mrs. Arnold Alyea. Mrs. Lardon's husband, a brother of Mrs. Alyea, is serving in the U. S. forces overseas.
