Thomas A. "Tom" Black (born 1919)
This January 7, 1943, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 1:
- Cpl. Tom Black, son of the Louie Blacks, has been spending a few days at home with his parents and old acquaintances. Cpl. Black, previously stationed at Ft. Bragg, has been transferred to Belboir, Va., where he will take officers training.
This April 8, 1943, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 4, column 2:
Blacks Receive Word from Sons
The Louis Blacks have received letters from their three sons, who are serving Uncle Sam in the armed forces. Theodore, the third son to enter service, writes that he has been sent to Ft. Monmouth, N.J. for his basic training. Their eldest son, Thomas, is to receive his Second Lieutenant's rating this week at Ft. Belvoir, Va., and Charles, the first of the three sons to enter the service, is a warrant officer and is stationed with his outfit in North Africa.This January 10, 1952, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 1, column 5:
- Lieut. Thomas Black of Munster, son of Louie Black, reported to Camp Kilmer, New Jersey, on December 28th and enjoyed a 92-hour leave over the New Year weekend which he spent at the home of his cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Piller, at Blawenburg, N.J. Tom will leave soon for overseas duty in Germany.
