Tony Obester

Tony Obester

The following unidentified newspaper article was found in a scrapbook owned by Town Historian Richard Schmal:

Tony Obester Victim of Hunter's Shot

Tony Obester, who lives west of Schneider, just off the county road, was injured by shot, from a shotgun blast, in the eyes, chest and stomach while working on the outside of his home Friday afternoon.

The shot was fired by a group of hunters, who immediately left the scene, leaving behind a dog which had been hunting with them.

While Mr. Obester was not critically injured, he has been suffering severe pain and is confined to his home due to the injuries. He and other residents of the Schneider community think something should be done concerning hunters trespassing in their vicinity as it is all private property and thickly populated.
