The following July 26, 1945, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 3, column 1:

    Writes from Overseas

    A letter received by the Nick Yeagers from their son, Pfc. Tony Yeager, who has been in a number of big battles on the German front, saying that he had over 100 points, but it didn't look like he was going to be released very soon. He said he was well when he wrote.
