WARREN STILSON
DIES VERY SUDDENLY LAST SUNDAY
Warren W. Stilson of Cedar Lake passed away very suddenly last Sunday. He had gone to Conrad to get some watermelons and while there was stricken with apoplexy. A doctor was called and later an ambulance was called, but he had passed away when the ambulance arrived. The remains were taken to his residence at Cedar Lake, where funeral services were held yesterday. Interment was made in the Crown Point cemetery. - Warren Stilson died very unexpectedly on Sunday while down near the Kankakee river. Funeral services will be held at the home Wednesday with burial in Crown Point cemetery.
This September 26, 1929, Lowell Tribune obituary appeared on page 1, column 2:
- Warren W. Stilson was one of nine children of Charles and Rosetta Stilson, he being the last of a family tree to pass away; all of his five brothers and three sisters have preceded him to the other land. Mr. Stilson was born Dec. 31, 1859, and departed this life September 15, 1929, at the age of 69 years, 8 months and 15 days.
He was married to Emma Novak, April 14, 1910, and they have lived a very devoted life together since that time, but now the companion feels the loss of parting.
Mr. Stilson had lived at Cedar Lake for years, yes, practically all his life. Many have said that he was known to the children as Uncle Warren, and that all who knew him esteemed him as a great neighbor and a tried friend.
He leaves to mourn his going a faithful companion who will miss him in his place in the home and the chair shall be vacant. Besides his wife many relatives and friends will miss him.
Funeral services were held at the home at Cedar Lake last Wednesday, Rev. V.V. Hackley conducting the services. Interment was made in Crown Point cemetery in charge of Sheets and Son.
