Wiabke Fedde Harding (1853-1937)
(Mrs. Thomas Harding)
- Mrs. Wiabke (Fedde) Harding was born in Germany, August 13, 1853. In infancy she was received into God's covenant of grace, being baptized in the Lutheran faith. When 13 years old she came with her parents to America, settling near Grant Park, Ill. She was united in marriage with Thomas Harding in the year 1875. The Lord blessed this union with 10 children, of whom seven preceded her into eternity. The husband died in 1889.
During a long period of helplessness the deceased was served with God's word and the Holy Sacrament privately. Her last communion was on July 14th, a few weeks before her death. The end came on July 29th, the Lord in His grace granting her a peaceful death delivering her from the many sorrows which she patiently endured.
She is survived by three children -- Mrs. Anna Hoevet and Emil Harding of Lowell, and John Harding of Gaines, Michigan, and six grand children. She attained the age of 83 years, 11 months and 16 days.
