Wilbert "Bud" McLean
FAREWELL PARTY HELD AT WILLIAM McLEAN HOME
A farewell party was held Feb. 2 at the home of the William McLeans for their son Wilbert (Bud) McLean, who, with Cletus Carmichael left for the service last week.The evening was spent playing games and dancing to music furnished by members of the party.
Present were Margaret Potters, Carol Brown, William Brown, Wesley Jurs, Dave Fisher, Mrs. Carmichael and two daughters, Alice and Mary, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Peters, Wilbur and Evelyn, Loyd Logsdon and son, Viola Novak and daughter, Elenore Yott, and Mr. and Mrs. William McLean and family.
Lunch was served by Mrs. Peters and Mrs. McLean.
A February 18, 1943, Lowell Tribune article (page 1, column 3) listed Wilbert McLean of Lowell among the 55 south Lake County men reporting to Fort Benjamin Harrison after passing an army examination and spending a week's leave at home.
