The following unidentified newspaper article was found in a scrapbook owned by Town Historian Richard Schmal:

    TWO HUB RESIDENTS DIE IN TRAFFIC ACCIDENT

    Rev. George Griesse, 68, of R. 1 Crown Point, assistant pastor of the Crown Point Trinity Lutheran church, was killed last Thursday night in a highway accident one mile west of the Hub City on Route 8. The accident also claimed the life of Mrs. Wilhelmina Schaedler, 53, of Crown Point. Her husband, Alvin, was seriously injured, and Rev. Griesse's 14 year old granddaughter, Edythe, was listed as critical at Gary Methodist hospital.

    The accident boosted Lake County's 1955 traffic fatality toll to six.
