The following article was found in the March 16, 1944, Lowell Tribune on page 1, column 2:

    WM. FATHKE, 40, DIES FROM HEART ATTACK

    William Fathke, 40, well known here, died from a heart attack at the county seat Tuesday. He had been in his usual apparent good health previous to the fatal attack.

    He has been employed by the county surveyor for a number of years and was well known over the county.
