William Kohlscheen

William Kohlscheen

The following item was in the April 22, 1920, Lowell Tribune (page 4, column 3):

    In Memoriam

    In loving memory of our dear son and brother, William, who passed away six months ago today, October 22, 1919;

In the grave yard softly sleeping,
        Where the flowers gently wave,
Lies the one we love so dearly,
        In his lonely silent grave,

Off we think of you dear William,
And our hearts are filled with pain.
Oh! This world would be a heaven
Could we but see your face again.

The flowers we lay upon your grave
        May wither and decay
But the love we have for you,
Dear son and brother will never fade away.

From loving parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kohlscheen, and sisters, Dora, Emma and Frieda, and brother, Frank.

This October 21, 1920, Lowell Tribune article appeared on page 1, column 3:

    In Memoriam

Of William Kohlscheen, who died October 22, 1919.

Those who saw you in your casket
Pure white and, oh so fair,
Thought you were the light of Heaven
As you lay so sweetly there,

Just one year ago you left us,
      How we miss you, dear,
      And remember all your kindness,
As we drop a silent tear.

He is sleeping in the cold, cold ground
The dark blue sky above him,
He was too good and sweet for earth
None knew him, but to love him.

His dear fair form has faded now
The cheeks have lost their roses,
His pure white soul, so free from sin,
      In heaven now reposes.

Sadly missed but silently mourned by Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kohlscheen, brothers and sisters.
